[Yoonjung Lee, Edaily Reporter] Y&Archer Co., Ltd. and the Korea Securities Depository announced on the 19th that they held the K-Camp Gwangju 4th Demo Day on the 17th.

The demo day took place at the K-Studio of the Gwangju Kim Daejung Convention Center. It featured nine companies that had undergone six months of acceleration: InterMedi Co., The Convini Cook, BeHappy Co., Young& Co., OmniArt Co., Innoceph Co., CoolBears Co., Turbine Crew Co., and Creon Co. The event was attended by over 50 participants, including representatives from ACs and VCs, startup support experts, and entrepreneurs hoping to join next year’s K-Camp.

As a result of the IR pitching sessions held during the event, CoolBears Co. (CEO Minjae Lee, known for its eco-friendly textile materials and golf apparel brand Avan) won the grand prize. InterMedi Co. (CEO Sanggi Yoon, specializing in special plates for fixing femur and proximal femur) received the Excellence Award, and BeHappy Co. (CEO Dokyung Lee, offering financial institution collaboration solutions to help youths form healthy financial habits) was awarded the Merit Award.

Notably, CoolBears, the grand prize winner, has secured Pre-A investment, been selected for the TIPS program, and received support from initiatives such as the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund’s First Penguin Program, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Startup Focused University’s Early Startup Package Support Project. They have also opened a three-story flagship store in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, aggressively advancing their B2C commercialization and promoting B2B activities related to resource-circulating material development.

Participation in this program led to overall growth for the participating companies in terms of sales and employment, better connection to various startup support programs, and improved access to investment opportunities.

Jongjin Park, head of the Gwangju branch of the Korea Securities Depository, said, “Through the K-Camp Gwangju program, we aim to contribute to revitalizing the regional startup ecosystem by providing intensive acceleration for promising entrepreneurs in Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeonbuk.”

Geumnam Jung, head of Y&Archer’s Gwangju Honam Center, added, “We will continue to provide consulting, investment attraction, and global expansion support for startups that have formed connections through this program, using our domestic and global networks to enhance their competitiveness.”

Meanwhile, Y&Archer will host the Global Startup Conference 2023 A-Stream at Haevichi Hotel in Jeju from August 23rd to 25th. This event aims to match startups, including those from the K-Camp Gwangju 4th batch, with investment experts to facilitate global growth.
